70 Buildings Alongside KBB Demolished

Due to they violate the Bylaw No. 8/2007 on public order, a total of 70 street vendors (PKL) and illegal building alongside west flood canal (KBB), RW 10, Grogol Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan were curbed by joint personnel on Wednesday (2/25).

Grogol Petamburan Sub-district Head, Denny Ramdany said, as many as 50 joint personnel from Satpol PP, Army/Police, and Fire Disaster and Rescuing officer were deployed to the location.

Curb at Ria Rio Reservoir Went Chaotic

The 70 buildings consist of 30 huts, 12 semi-permanent buildings, 25 street vendor stalls, and 3 political party posts. Ramdany continued, his side has done socialization to building owner or street vendor before demolishing them.

"The officer's vehicle found difficult to pass the road because it narrowed by illegal building during today, thus inhibit the officer responsibility to clean the trash or to extinguish the fire at area," told Ramdany.

Jajang (50), one of the illegal building owners admitted to have lived there for 3 years.

"I often warned by the officers to not live here. But, I still confuse to find other place to live, thus I still live here," he said.
